Who We Are
This website is the official author website of F. Matthew Johnson. Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact page or to [CONTACT EMAIL — add before launch].
Newsletter Signup (Reader’s List)
When you join the Reader’s List, you provide your first name and email address. This information is used only to send you the emails you signed up for: book news, author updates, and reader extras.
Email delivery is handled by Kit (kit.com), a third-party email service. Your name and email address are stored on Kit’s systems under Kit’s own privacy practices. Your email address will not be sold, and it will not be shared for other companies’ marketing.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect promptly and requires no explanation.
Contact-Form Submissions
Messages sent through the contact form—your name, email address, optional organization, inquiry type, and message—are used solely to read and respond to your inquiry. Depending on configuration, submissions are processed by Netlify Forms and/or a customer-relationship service (GoHighLevel) used to manage professional inquiries such as book-club, library, media, and speaking requests.
Analytics
This site may use privacy-conscious analytics (such as Netlify Analytics, Plausible, or Fathom) to understand overall visitor numbers and popular pages. These tools are configured to avoid collecting personally identifying information wherever possible. [Update this section to name the analytics tool actually in use, or state that no analytics are used.]
Cookies
This site does not set cookies for advertising. If an analytics or form service sets strictly functional cookies, they are used only to make those services work. [Update if the chosen analytics or form tools use cookies.]
Links to Other Websites
This site links to external websites, including Amazon, where the book may be purchased. Once you follow such a link, that website’s own privacy policy applies. This site does not control and is not responsible for the practices of external sites.
Third-Party Services
The services this site relies on may include: Netlify (website hosting and form handling), Kit (email newsletters), and GoHighLevel (professional inquiry management). Each processes only the data needed for its function.
Your Choices and Requests
You may unsubscribe from emails at any time. You may also request a copy of the personal information held about you, or ask for it to be corrected or deleted, by writing through the contact page. Reasonable requests are honored promptly.
Children
This website is intended for adult readers and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
